I've known since July that I want to participate in Inktober, but I didn't want to do what I did last year, which was just do a ink drawing of whatever random thing I happened to think of last minute and stress over not being able to use color (which I have a love-hate relationship). So I began to think about what I could focus on (this was before Jake Parker released the Inktober 2016 prompts btw, I probably would have done them too), and as I was watching/listening, while doing the cat's litter box, to the Artist/Illustrator/Youtuber Fran Meneses who was discussing how for inktober she takes a not well known fairy tale and illustrates her interpretation of it in her unique style. I loved that idea! But, I decided, instead of fairy tales, I would go through my beloved bookshelf, and find the top 31 favorite fiction books, from my childhood up until know and do a 4x6 inspired illustration of them as my personal challenge.
