Chilling thought

Here is a quote that my sister shared with me recently.

What if we woke up tomorrow with only the things we thanked God for today?

It is such a chilling thought for me because I've come to realize that I am a complainer and whiner when it comes to prayers, asking why did that have to happen, what can't this, whine, whine, whine. I don't thank God for my family enough, for the sky, for air, for arms! And he's the one who gave me all, even though I'm such an ungrateful wretch that is like a spoiled animal that takes and takes and never gives back. This will change. It must. I'm posting this because it's good for me to put this out there and have it public, but also to share this and open eyes of others that have been doing the same thing as me. With my ever merciful savior, I know that there is a way for me to be saved.

Don't forget to give thanks.

What Matters

For the first time ever - a second thought provoking post on Tuesday (the original post was scheduled and I had forgotten about it until I found this video and posted it - I think in a way it goes in part with the first TPT).

Jostie Flicks entered this video into the Christian Filmmakers.org's 48hr contest. And got first place.

Another provoking thought

If your life was to end 8.5 seconds from now, could you honestly say that you lived it to the best and fullest?

Thought provoking

Those minutes where I am alone, just me and my pillow. I think. A lot. I think about everything, anything. It varies form “what am I doing with my life?” to “did I have homework?” The room is so silent, but my mind is so loud. It drives me crazy because the things I would never think about, I think about. Sometimes, I hate it because it brings up things I rather never think about again. The spilt second before I sleep is the most active second of my life.

Thought Provoking Tuesday {more "funny" then "provoking"}

Here's a good one ... and I secretly hope its true. =)
Many years ago in Scotland, a new game was invented.
It was ruled "Gentlemen Only...Ladies Forbidden".
And thus, the word GOLF (and the sport) entered into the English language.

(tell me if you don't get it)

Thought Provoking Tuesday...er Thursday Part II

A answer to the last TPT was answered by a Thursday (funny me doing this on a
thursday too huh?). Here's the answer Thursday gave to me:

"According to the Online Etymology Dictionary, the English word "orange" was imported around 1300 AD from Old French, "orenge". The French got it from the Latin "pomum de orenge", which came in turn from the Italian, "arancia". When the Italians first began using it, though, it was "narancia" or "naranza", because they got it from Venetian sailors trading with the Arabs, who called it "naranj" because they learned of the fruit from the Persians who called it "narang" because that's what the Indians, who first cultivated oranges, called it in Sanskrit - "naranga", "orange tree".

(Maybe that's why nothing rhymes properly with "orange"...)

Anyway, it wasn't used to describe a color until 1542, a couple centuries after it was used in English to begin with, so the color must have been named after the fruit! :D "
Thanks so much Thursday!

Thought Provoking Tuesday

Why is it that the fruit, the Orange, is the color Orange?

Has anyone else ever thought about that?

Was the fruit named after the color or the color named after the fruit?

As Davy Keith from L.M.Montgomery series of Anne would say:
" Anne? Really, I want to know!"

Thought provoking Tuesday

Comedians Are Magicians:
They insult you and make you laugh and think it’s funny.

…not that it’s a bad thing.
