Did you ask for it? No, but I feel the need to share.
First off, I should probably tell you what I need inspro for. I want to be a illustrator. I lean mostly towards children literature but love every form of illustrtrating at it's core. My love is watercolors, I try to paint every day. But when unable to do that (it does take some time), I try to throw out some sketches. I live inspiration - my dream would be to become a professional illustrator - but I know for a fact I am more in the category of "aspiring illustrator", more so then anything else. But hey - I can hope and dream right?
I like to watch this video with Ira Glass (it's on storytelling but I think it can apply to any form of craft). Makes me believe that someday I can stop falling short of my ambition to make something beautiful.
The next best inspiration to start creative juices flowing is to look at other masterpieces. I never grow tried of it. Here are some of my favorites (Note - all of these mentioned are done with the medium of Watercolors):
Harold Allanson... is so amazing. Half of my family didn't believe that this was a watercolor. The detail and reality of this painting is stunningly amazing. {Cape Pine}
John Salminen. The way he captures reality but gives it that flare that is always there gives me goosebumps.
{Washington Square} (John Salminen) I could stare at this for hours.
Dean Mitchell's {Driftwood} *sighs*
David Cuin {Echoes of Grandeur} The ingenious of this lighting throws me.
Sara Burrier is another watercolorists hero to me. I adore her style and am a proud owner of three of her prints.
And of course, I could never leave Susan Montague of of any of my inspiration post. Her amazing talent of capturing (seeming to be) passer-bys with watercolor is gorgeous and unforgettable.
♥
Blessings on those who read this and their week.

Of pearls and feathers
Have I mentoned that I now have feather hair extensions?
Also, just funness at the ocean. Keilah (my older sister) and I both went out to the sand as the sun was setting - both in brothers plaid shirts and pearls. Awesomeness right?
Both photo credits to my sis.

An Explanation
"I meant to do my work today-
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
and a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.
And the wind went singing over the land
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
and a rainbow held out it's shining hand-
So what could I do but laugh and go?"
~Richard LeGallienne
...for those of you who were wondering why I wasn't posting much, or nothing really worthy of much noticed -The above poem explains it nicely.
You may not see much of me in the next few weeks or months - with rising ducks, preparing for our kidding season, and trying to finish three months worth of school in, well... one and a half. *wry grin* It shall be a challange to find the time to blog - forgive me!

"Forever an Undying Dream"
Medium: sketch and watercolors
This photo is not good at all, sorry if you can't see. I think you can click on it.
This is one of the few little sketches of mine that I have titled. I was feeling like nothing in my life would ever change. That my dreams would just stay as that-dreams.
But a dream is something you wish for, but also strive for. Sometimes you can't just wait for it to happen, but you have to go out and try and get it yourself.
I have never had watercolor lessons (or drawing for that matter), so it's sloppy I know-but that's just another dream that I have taken for myself. The love of art, to master it, to have joy in it. To actually finish something! =)
Any feedback?

Cartwheels in the Rain
Cartwheels have become something of a habit of mine now. I adore doing them; figuring out more cool ways to do it, and still try to, every time, land on my feet.
But have you done a cartwheel in the last few months?
You should.
It can make you relax, makes you look at things in a different view (seriously, you're upside down!) and just clears your thoughts.
Yesterday morning, I went off on an adventure with my wonderful dog, Reign. (who has the most stunning brown eyes)
We ran through the wet undergrowth and over logs. It was raining beautifully and chilly. But I didn't mind.
Coming to a clearing, I suddenly had the urge to spin a cartwheel. I did. Right into a deep puddle.
Cartwheels are grand, but cartwheels in puddles are simple marvelous! I did it again.
Slash!
Then I thought, Why just land in one? Why not start and land in a deep, watery puddle?
I did.
I came inside soaked...and I mean really. My light green, long sleeve shirt was dripping, my beanie (or Took as they say in Canada) made a Plop sound as it hit the kitchen counter, and my jeans were making Swishing sounds as I walked.
What a way to start off a morning!

Welcome to the first post of Trail of Thoughts
Welcome, G'day, Howdy, Yo, Hello, Dude, Hi!
As you can see by the title...this is the very first post of my new blog Trail of Thoughts. This blog will be all about writing, art, music, dreams and ideas.
This will not be a post-every-day-blog though, more of a daybook of my artish life (I believe I just made up a word...maybe not).
I started this because Jare was being a Troll for not posting anything and I was tried that people were asking after him and he didn't answer. This is my space (where there happens to be a lot of room...I wonder why?).
Join me if you deem me worthy. =)
-Libby
PS
The reason I gave ^ is not the real one I started this because, for one I've had this title up my sleeve for a long time-I have really wanted to use it. And I think there should be a place where all of you can see my stuff-but also share your own. Please share, your own ideas are welcomed (and I will not steal them). This blog is under COPYRIGHT as well, please, do not take what is not yours. Thank you
