Eye Study

Medium: Charcoal

The eye is one of the most amazing parts of the body. And it is taken for granted so much even I have done that. The eye is also a fun, if sometimes challenging piece to draw. Any notes or remarks? On this sketch or the eye in its self?

Also, its snowing right now. Not sure if I'm happy or not about that.

Libby- that is an incredible and detailed drawing! Bravo!

And yes, the eye is amazing! Do you know that the eye is the only organ that does not grow at all from the time that you are born? In chemistry I was studying light waves and it hit me that every color that I can see is not an object of "color" but it's only light that out eye processes in different ways... Amazing! And people say that there is no such thing as intelligent design!

Cassie

P.S. I replied to your comment on my blog.

and the eye is amazing: you know i love doing bodies and what not, but most of the faces on my people are blank because I can't do proportions right? *arg*.......
i also love drawing with charcoal! Do you enjoy it?

Yeah, I want to see more of your sketches - and I actually love how you sometimes don't do faces, I like the look of it.

And yes, I do enjoy working with charcoal. =)

I love eyes. I've always had a fascination with them. Was it Shakespeare who said, "Eyes are the windows to the soul"? Hmm...
